Frequently Asked Questions

A list of common questions about our services, therapy, and other information

What happens after my first appointment?

After the intake appointment, you and your therapist will work to complete an assessment and treatment plan which can take up to a month to complete. After that, you and your therapist will work on those goals you both have set.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Please bring your ID and insurance card, if available.  Please bring contact information for other providers you would like for us to contact to coordinate care.

How often will I see my therapist?

Most individuals see their therapist once a week for one hour, at the same time each week. There is some flexibility if you would like to see a therapist more or less often, or if you have a schedule that varies from week to week.

Can I sign up my family member for therapy?

If your family member is age 18 or older, they will need to apply for services independently. Please feel free to share our contact information and offer to call in with them. We are unable to schedule for you on behalf of someone else. Please call us if you need support in seeking resources for someone else.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

The first appointment is an intake appointment. You and your therapist will review and sign the required documentation for our program and your insurance. Your therapist will tell you about themselves, and the program. We realize that the first appointment can be a little uncomfortable, and want to tell you that our job is to accept, not judge.

What does therapy look like?

Our therapists provide individualized services, unique to your needs. Read the biographies of each of our therapists to learn about the different types of therapy styles, expertise, and techniques that they provide.
