Caroline Vega LSW, MSW, CADC, QMHP
Adult Therapist
Caroline earned her master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in May 2020. She specialized in mental health and sub-specialization in Alcohol and Drug Counseling. When working with clients, she utilizes a person-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed, and humanistic approach. Caroline identifies herself as a trauma-based therapist.
Caroline believes that every person is the expert of their own journey, and that the therapist’s role is to be a guide to teach tools and coping skills to empower you to navigate through life’s stressors. Her goal as your therapist, is to meet you where you are at in your journey to help you find yourself among all the chaos and improve your ability to live, laugh, and love in the healthiest way possible. She works with you to embrace the different parts of yourselves in order to decrease distress, identity difficulties, and build a better understanding of who you are and who you want to become after trauma and life difficulties. Caroline works from a framework that the past has shaped the present and to create change in the future we need to explore the past. She works with clients to internalize their own “therapist within” to assist them in times of crisis or intense distress.
She has experience working with individuals recovering from complex trauma/grief, criminal justice trauma, domestic violence, narcissistic abuse, addiction, psychosis, identity disturbances, ADHD, and a wide range of mental health diagnoses. Caroline’s ideal client is someone who is excited to start therapy, build healthier relationships, break generational patterns, explore their behaviors and beliefs, and is interested in becoming more self-aware. Therapy modalities and foundations Caroline uses in therapy include: Mindfulness, Motivational interviewing, Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, EMDR, Relational Therapy, CBT-P, Music therapy, Bibliotherapy, and Humanistic Therapy. Caroline utilizes humor in the therapy space and a ‘parts work ‘and psychodynamic therapeutic framework. Client has recently started accepting couples for couples therapy using a trauma-informed approach and The Gottman Method. Caroline is a Gottman Level 1 and Level 2 trained therapist.
Caroline has completed her LCSW hours and is working on completing the LCSW exam.
