Candyss Newman, MSW, MJ, QMHP

Candyss earned her dual Master’s degree in social work, specializing in children and families, and Master of Jurisprudence in children’s law and policy from Loyola University Chicago. She has nearly 20 years of child, youth, and adolescent development expertise that has informed her work with clients ages 5-28. Candyss has clinical experience working with children and adolescents in school settings who struggle with a variety of conditions including emotional dysregulation, depression, and anxiety, as well as behavioral concerns. Candyss provides trauma-informed, client-centered, and strengths-based services that lean toward CBT and integrated therapeutic approaches, recognizing the individual needs of her clients. Candyss is passionate about promoting the healthy cognitive and social-emotional development of youth, particularly those from underserved community populations exposed to trauma and other adverse experiences. Candyss seeks to help families and youth grow beyond their trauma by building the resilience, skills, and resourcefulness they need to improve their quality of life. Outside of the office, Candyss enjoys spending time with loved ones, learning digital illustration, writing children’s storybooks, watching movies, and exploring new food and travel experiences.
