Tony received his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University and his bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Tony has experience working with clients in school systems on the Southwest side of Chicago where he provided counseling services for elementary and high school students. Tony has also worked with adults in residential settings providing individual and group counseling, case management and medication training. Tony’s approach to counseling is an integration of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), experiential activities and motivational interviewing, aiming to build self-awareness as well as emotional intelligence and overall wellbeing. Tony uses both traditional talk therapy and experiential exercises to build a strong connection between the mind and body, as he recognizes that creating a more holistic experience will help empower clients to generate internal change on their journey of self-discovery.
